First, I hope all of you had a wonderful New Years celebration and wish you a Happy and Prosperous 2015!
Second, I need to confess something…
Being a Realtor is certainly rewarding to me financially, no doubt. I had a great year in 2014. But the personal reflection back is less about the money and much more about the lives I had a very direct and positive effect on. The “real” reward is and has always been the positive way people reacted to someone entering their lives with a positive and upbeat attitude and offers help.
This year I helped younger folks, older folks, first time homeowners, retirees, second home owners, and distressed homeowners; and they all needed help working through the “process” of selling or buying a home.
What I have learned is that those rewards go beyond just this process. Most all of those I have helped have remained friends close and far. Some I still meet with socially and share the joys of riding our motorcycles together, tasting a great beer and possibly having a cigar.
You really don’t have to be that “Amazing” in what you do, you simply have to “Care” about the people you are helping enough to do the right things.
I am always the “glass is half full” guy and people are always attracted and inspired to those of us who embrace that in our lives. I promise to continue to live by that same rule for 2015 as I always have and will continue to do likely for the rest of my life.
Helping people is its own reward. Learn to listen to their needs and then try and help find the solution that will help them.
What you will receive in return will go beyond anything you can ever expect.
Thanks for everything,
P.S. If you know of someone that needs help buying or selling, you know where to send them
